Strength Flow

Breath

Stability

Strength

Power

Agility

In that order, every time

I’ve seen it over and over again.

And it’s why I am creating this class.

Because I watch women come to other strength classes and lift heavy things and then tell me that their balance sucks.

I watch women come to strength classes and lift heavy things and tell me that they feel sluggish and slow.

I watch women come to strength classes and lift heavy things and tell me that they don’t move like they used to.

The answer isn't always lifting heavier. Sometimes it's returning to the foundations we've skipped over.

Those foundations don’t require hours in the gym.

They can be simple movements practiced consistently over time that allow us to maintain our stability, strength, power, and agility.

I get asked all the time,

“What is the best piece of exercise equipment I can own?”

And my answer is always the same.

A pair of five-pound dumbbells.

That’s it.

You can do so much with that set of weights.

That’s where this class came from.

The desire to maintain all of those things over my lifetime.

And to see other women do the same.

In this class, we will begin with nervous system regulation work.

That sounds really fancy, but what it means is that we will start with the breath.

Because without the breath, nothing else matters.

The breath is the foundation of everything else we do.

And without it, what we build on top crumbles.

When life gets hard, we return to the breath.

It steadies us because it is always available.

It is our outward connection to our inward world.

From that connection we build stability.

When the muscles shake, we calm them.

When we want to waver in our balance, we stay.

When we want to quit, we remember that we are still here.

Still breathing.

We see what we are capable of through our breath and find our power in it.

Our ability to rise to any challenge.

Through our breath we find our fire within.

And we take back our power.

We don't chase power first.

We build stability.

From stability comes strength.

From strength comes power.

From power comes agility.

And beneath every one of those...

Is the breath.

The one thing we carry with us through every season of our lives.
